Daniel Buren is a French artist born in 1938. In the 1960s he began working with the vertically striped fabrics that would bring him an international reputation.

In 1967 he co-founded the artists' group BMTP (Buren-Mosset-Parmentier-Toroni).

In 2006 he reworked the two big stained glass windows giving onto part of the chapel, adding blue, red and yellow squares, plus others using his famous stripes. The relationship between architecture and light is emphasised by the way the sun's rays project the colours of the windows onto the floor.
